With time, many family heirloom photographs begin to show their age. Color photos fade away, or become bluish or yellowish and most photogarphic prints end up getting scratched, or torn, due to normal handling.
San Diego Photos and Prints offers photo restoration services to bring your old tired photograph back to it's original beauty.
In most cases we can restore your old faded photograph back to it's former glory and we can remove scratches and tears.
Our process results in a new print.
We begin by converting your original printed photograph into a digital file format. Once the file has been created, we store your original print and work only on the digital version.
Our team is composed of traditional artists and digital artists that will examine then retouch your new digital photo to remove the damage then color correct the file to restore the original colors or black and white image. Then we print a brand new copy using the restored digital file. The result is a brand new print that looks very close to the way the original print looked many, many years ago. Many of our clients tell us the restored print actually looks "better" than the original did years ago.
Our prints are created on a fine art printing system using archival pigment based inks and professional grade archival photographic papers, fine art papers, or artists canvas.
Photo restoration can be a labor intensive process (depending on what the original problem was) so prior to doing any of the time consuming work, we will provide you with a firm cost estimate. If you decide NOT to move forward with your restoration, all we ask is that you pay the return postage for your original print.
